Fighting climate change takes work on many fronts, so we fund three different kinds of projects: protecting existing forests, destroying potent industrial gases at the source, and building clean wind power that displaces coal and gas. Spreading our support this way means our contribution reflects how climate progress actually happens — on many fronts, at once.
Tropical Forest Conservation
This project protects a large area of Indonesian forest that would otherwise be cleared or drained for development, keeping the carbon stored in those trees and soils out of the atmosphere.
Nitrous Oxide Abatement
Nitrous Oxide Abatement--This project, at a nylon factory in Florida, captures and destroys a potent greenhouse gas (nitrous oxide), which impacts global warming 256 times more than carbon dioxide. This gas is normally released into the atmosphere as a by-product of manufacturing.
West Texas Wind Farm
This wind farm in Texas generates clean electricity for the Lower Colorado River Authority grid, displacing electricity that would otherwise come from burning natural gas or coal.
